DESCRIPTION: EPW - Girard Perregaux, Chaux-de-Fonds, tandem-winding minute repeater grande sonnerie clockwatch, 57mm, heavy 18K gold original Girard Perregaux HC with beautiful raised and chased front detail of a perched eagle with outstretched wings beside a setting sun comprised of a set diamond, Jürgensen-style lips, signed gold cuvette bearing attributes, white enamel SS dial, SW-shift-locking-LS, lever escapement with capped escape wheel, strike train jeweled to hammers, 29J, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#323445 within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 97.3 dwt (151.5 g). Comes as pictured with its original fitted wooden Girard Perregaux box containing its guarantee certificate with correctly matching serial number and also an extra crystal wrapped in tissue paper. A very impressive example highlighted by its appealing case imagery and by the presence of its original box and certificate.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, frequently with good repeat function and tone though at times with errors of hour strike being one off from correct return and/or of minute strike occasionally being one off from correct return, grande sonnerie likewise with good function and tone though at times with errors of hour strike being one off from correct return, good sonnerie silence function, overhaul needed if consistently correct repeat and sonnerie function is desired, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some scattered mild small fine to micro-fine scratches, small "J G" initials scribed to perimeter of barrel bridge near base of click spring; excellent dial with small faint perimeter hl near 5, minuscule pinpoint surface nick left of center; case shows little wear, long fine to micro-fine scratch to cuvette crossing past its midpoint, no dents or dings, good engraving and chasing detail; tight bow, crown shows light wear with small ridge break; good glass crystal; box upper lid with some warping which is currently preventing it from latching shut, box otherwise shows light wear, some typical scratches and dings to exterior, small area of finish loss to lower-left of top lid, inner silk liner not seating flush within upper lid space as liner's backing has some warping,
